Welcome to Diamond Way Buddhism in Canada
Diamond Way Buddhism in Canada is a network network of over 600 Buddhist meditation centres and groups within the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. These centres were founded by Lama Ole Nydahl, under the spiritual guidance of H.H. 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, who now resides in New Delhi, India.
Our Buddhist meditation centres and groups are places where people can learn to meditate and receive authentic Buddhist teachings in a friendly, modern context. Diamond Way Buddhist centres function through voluntary work on the basis of friendship and idealism. Our Buddhist centres offer a regular introduction to Buddhism, guided meditation classes, Buddhist courses, and Buddhist teachings by visiting Tibetan and Western Buddhist teachers and lamas such as Karmapa Thaye Dorje and Lama Ole Nydahl.
Since 1972, Lama Ole Nydahl has been working to develop a modern approach to the Buddha’s teachings. Modern western education, stressing self-reliance and independent thought, has proven to be an excellent basis for realizing one’s mind. Through our centres and groups the Buddha’s most effective teachings are being passed on to idealistic and independent people around the world.
